What happened to the consciousness of people, if they left behind the century of enlightenment and universal educational program, some approached the 21st century, having forgotten somewhere the whole baggage of acquired knowledge? More and more parents refuse vaccinations, declaring them almost obscurantism, and, at least - the universal conspiracy of doctors. Someone completely neglects medical care, believing that the child’s body is able to cope independently with all ailments. But the most surprising are women who decide to give birth at home. What drives proponents of home birth?
- Some mothers with experience in childbirth in a medical institution recall the hospital with horror and disgust: rough treatment, an endless stream of women in labor and, accordingly, the conveyor attitude of the person. Others even note the stressful impact of the harsh Russian doctors on the birth activity itself, talking about the fights that stopped upon arrival at the medical facility. And some make public the terrible statistics about the number of deaths of women in childbirth and newborns and about the doctors who became fatal errors. True, the sources of this information most often turn out to be rumors and gossip, heard "from a friend of a friend of the former neighbor," but, nevertheless, it is this information that excites the minds and makes us think about the attractiveness of childbirth at home.
- "Naturalness or back to nature" - this is the slogan of many adherents of refusing medical participation in childbearing. "Our grandmothers," they say, "gave birth right in the field." And this amazing lie is perfectly perceived by others, it would seem, noted by the certificate of universal secondary education, and even diplomas of universities, women. Our grandmothers gave birth, for the most part, in Soviet maternity hospitals, some lucky ones - in the comfortable telephones of the Grauerman Clinic, and were incredibly happy with free Soviet medicine. Doctors came to the house of our great-grandmothers - the townspeople, and midwives and paramedics rushed to their ancestral agrarians.
- "Europe gives birth at home" - like this, from the grandmothers who produce offspring in endless Russian fields the founders of home birth courses send directly to European civilization. Some Europeans give birth at home - with a certified midwife and an ambulance team that knows neither Moscow traffic jams, nor Russian provincial impassability. In our country, such activities are prohibited by law, for some reason they forget to report "spiritual midwives." And sometimes they "forget" to at least call the resuscitation team, in the case when everything went not so smoothly as it was supposed and described.
Delivery at home is not cheap. Courses and semi-legal support are often more expensive than a contract in one of the best metropolitan hospitals. Money allows you to choose an individual program, choose an institution that practices naturalness or even childbirth in water. Moreover, all such practices are safe thanks to a nearby operating room and highly qualified specialists who are ready to intervene in the life of mother and baby at any second. Childbirth, of course, is a completely natural process, but there is no need to talk about its safety and simplicity.
