Scientists from the United States have proven: caffeine is able to save the life of a child who was born earlier. The fact is that this substance stimulates the work of the diaphragm, lungs and brain, forcing the premature baby to breathe independently. To the surprise of many, doctors argue that premature babies can be helped by such medicine as sildenafil, better known as Viagra.

Premature babies often suffer from underdevelopment of the lungs, which is fraught with slow pumping of blood to the lungs. Sildenafil relaxes their work, allowing blood to flow more easily into the heart muscle.

The use of such drugs is necessary. According to American doctors, over the past 100 years, the number of children born before the deadline has increased by 35%.
