Tomorrow, October 31, on the eve of All Saints Day, most English-speaking countries of the world will celebrate Halloween.

Halloween began to be celebrated for the first time back in the 7th century, when May 13 was the day of remembrance of dead saints and martyrs. A little later, the holiday was moved to the end of October in order to destroy its pagan roots, replacing them with Christian ones.

On the night of November 1, both adults and children, dressed in various costumes of scary creatures - cartoon characters and horror films, as well as celebrity masks and demons, flood American streets, waiting for a sweet reward. Children, shouting "Pay, or we will make fun of you" joyfully carry boxes of various sizes, hiding the results of their "hunt" from everyone.

As you know, the symbol of the holiday is Jack's Lamp, which is a pumpkin, with a smiling face carved on it and a candle lit inside. Why exactly a pumpkin with a lit candle? There are many different versions. So, according to one of them, luminous pumpkins represent wandering souls that are stuck between hell and paradise, and according to another, the true source of the holiday is the legend about a drunkard who sold his soul to the devil named Jack.

Be that as it may, the festival fell in love with both adults and children. This is the day when you can realize all your fantasies by transforming into any evil creature.

Halloween is especially dear to Hollywood stars who, as always, try to outdo each other with scary outfits. Let's look at them, and maybe pick up some interesting ideas for tomorrow evening.
