Salad appeared thousands of years ago, in ancient Rome.

Then, of course, it was a set of spicy herbs seasoned with vinegar, and not such a dizzying variety of dishes of this type, which is now known to mankind. But discoveries on the theme of "salad" continue.

Often recipes are invented not by technologists of a catering company, and not even by a chef of an elite restaurant, but ordinary housewives in their kitchen.

If the hostess forgot to add some ingredient, or, conversely, added something superfluous - a good sign, to the emergence of a new interesting recipe. In the end, cooking is also an art.

Salad with ham and crackers - basic technological principles

No wonder they say that a woman can make a salad out of nothing! The way it is. But some basic rules for the preparation of complex salads will have to, however, be assimilated and carried out strictly.

The technology for the preparation of salads consists in the preparation of products, their cutting and mixing. The taste of the salad depends on a well-chosen combination of ingredients. In this matter, everything depends on personal preferences.

In addition to the combination of ingredients, there is another secret: slicing also affects the taste of the salad.

A large cut of the ingredients "sounds" in any selected composition separately - each component, despite the harmonious combination, more clearly stands out to taste. Finely chopped products are not so noticeable. Although, according to the rules of technology, it is customary to cut all the ingredients in the same way, but this relates more to the aesthetic appearance of a cold dish.

An important part for any salad is gas station.

The most common sauce for cold dishes is mayonnaise. Mayonnaise is also made at home.

But, besides him, there are other types of refueling, and do not forget about it.

Hand-made, dressing may turn out to be a more tasty and interesting addition. It can be nut or olive oil in combination with lemon juice, dry wine, mustard, vinegar and spices.

Sour cream based dressings - more dietary than mayonnaise, and no less tasty if herbs and spices are added to sour cream sauce. In the end, the variety of salad dressings expands the range of salads. For example, a salad with ham and crackers with mayonnaise and oil-vinegar dressing will seem like completely different dishes.

Salads need to be filled immediately before serving, or, in any case, not earlier than half an hour before consumption. Especially this rule applies to salads, which include juicy vegetables: tomatoes, cucumbers mixed with mayonnaise, quickly release juice and will not look very presentable in a dish.

Do not add an excessive amount of dressing to salads, which will interfere with the taste of all other components.

Salads, according to the rules of etiquette, are served before the main dishes, along with cold appetizers. In this regard, it is appropriate to recall that almost all salads two hours after preparation, in accordance with sanitary standards, become unusable, especially if they stood all this time in open form on the table. Therefore, try to prepare the salad in the quantity that is necessary for one meal, and do not stock up on it for tomorrow.

The preparation of salads, which include crackers, has one feature. It must be remembered that dry bread can soak in a dish, next to juicy vegetables and dressing. This is not always pleasant to the taste, and the appearance of the salad can be spoiled by the presence of bread soaked in the sauce. Therefore, crackers in salads should be added at the very end of cooking, even after the sauce, so that they do not have time to get wet.

1. A quick salad with ham and crackers

Products:

Smoked cheese ("pigtails") 150 g

Ham, chicken 400 g

Eggs - 5 pcs.

White bread (stale) 120 g

Canned corn 300 g

Cucumber, fresh 200 g

Chopped greens

Lettuce (for decoration)

For refueling:

Mayonnaise (or sour cream), mustard, ground pepper, salt

Operating procedure:

Prepare the ingredients:

Cut slices of stale white bread into strips. Heat oil in a frying pan, put chopped garlic, a little turmeric and ground pepper (one pinch each), salt, chopped garlic (a couple of slices). Fry the bread and transfer to a napkin.

Boil and peel the eggs, then cut in half. Set aside the yolks to make the sauce, and cut the whites into thin slices.

Unwrap the cheese pigtails, disassemble the strips into thin threads with your hands, then cut them into strips 1.5-2 cm long.

Cucumber, ham, cut into thin strips.

Flip the corn through a colander. Chop the greens.

Prepare the dressing:

In mayonnaise, add a teaspoon of mustard, ground pepper. For sour cream sauce, use salt in addition.

Mix all the ingredients of the salad. Put lettuce leaves on a flat dish, after washing them and drying them slightly. Lay out the salad in a slide. Pour sauce and garnish with chopped herbs.

2. Salad with beans, ham and crackers, puff

Ingredients:

Canned Beans 300 g

Cheese, hard 200 g

Pickled mushrooms 250 g

Boiled eggs 5 pcs.

Ham (or smoked breast) 350 g

Chives 100 g

Lemon juice 50 ml

Garlic croutons (cubes) 100 g

For dressing: mayonnaise (30%), pepper (ground)

Cooking:

Cut the champignons into slices, green onions into strips (1 cm), eggs into cubes. Grate the cheese on a grater. Cut the smoked ham or chicken breast into cubes, the same size as beans and crackers.

In a deep form or bowl, lay the onion, after sprinkling it with lemon juice.

Lay the salad in layers, covering each of them with mayonnaise.

The sequence of layers: onions, mushrooms, beans, ham, crackers, eggs, cheese.

When serving, flip the dish over. On top of the salad you can decorate with mushroom plates, egg slices, laying them in a circle, put beans in the center and sprinkle with grated cheese.

Puff salad with crackers and ham should be infused for an hour. Therefore, one hour before serving, put the dish form in the refrigerator, covering it with a lid or wrapping it with foil.

3. Original salad with crackers, ham and tomatoes

Product Composition:

Cherry Tomatoes 6 pcs.

Quail eggs 12 pcs.

Cheese, creamy (soft) 300 g

Ham, smoked and boiled 400 g

Chopped greens (to taste)

Fried sesame seeds

Lettuce (for decoration)

Rye crackers 50 g

For refueling:

Lemon juice, olive oil, salt, sugar, pepper

Cooking:

Boil the eggs, peel, cut them in half. In four slices, cut the "cherry". We cut ham coarsely, with bars. Put washed lettuce leaves on the dish. Lay on top slices of ham, tomatoes and eggs. Put cream cheese on a salad with a teaspoon. Sprinkle with sesame seeds, crackers and chopped herbs. Prepare a dressing of these ingredients, adding spices and lemon juice to taste to olive oil.

4. Salad with cabbage, ham and crackers

Products:

Beijing cabbage 300 g

Smoked ham 250 g

Tomatoes 150 g

Parmesan 100 g

Crackers, rye 50 g

Corn, boiled 200 g

Olive oil, wine vinegar, pepper - for dressing

Cooking:

Prepare the vegetables: discard the tinned corn through a colander, let the marinade drain; chop the cabbage with a long straw; blanch the tomatoes, remove the peel and seeds, cut into slices. Ham and crackers should be the same size as corn. Parmesan grate coarsely. Mix all the ingredients in a deep bowl, pour plenty of dressing and serve immediately.

5. Warm salad with ham, cheese and crackers

Composition:

Roasted honey mushrooms 300 g

Passioned onion 100 g

Ham fried 400 g

300 g fried cheese

Mayonnaise (or sour cream)

Egg, raw 1 pc.

Greens chopped

Cooking:

Cut the washed and boiled mushrooms into slices and fry in butter, adding spices. Transfer to a deep salad bowl. Top with chopped onion and sautéed onion in butter. In the same oil, fry the ham, cut into bars. Beat the egg. Roll large cubes of cheese in a beaten egg and then in breadcrumbs. Heat olive oil in a pan. Put chopped garlic and pepper in it. Quickly fry the pieces of cheese, stirring them continuously, immediately lay on top of the salad. Pour sparse mayonnaise and sprinkle with parsley and dill.

6. Zurich salad with ham and crackers - Swiss cuisine

Composition:

Pickled gherkins

Ham, boiled

Hard cheese

Rusks, white

Pickled carrots

For dressing: apple cider vinegar, vegetable oil, ground pepper, black

Cooking:

All salad ingredients are taken in equal proportions and cut into long strips. Before adding to the salad, put the carrots in a separate bowl, pour oil and vinegar, add sugar, salt and pepper. Soak for 3-4 hours. Refill the finished salad with the same marinade, combining all the products.

Salad with ham and crackers - useful tips and tricks

  • Salads should be fresh, and served immediately after preparation, with the exception of special recipes. Cooking several different salads for the holiday to one hostess can be very difficult.
  • If you are preparing to receive guests, there is a lot of work to do in the kitchen, but there is nobody to help, do this: boil all the necessary vegetables, peel and cut them in advance, but do not mix them, but put them in containers, close the lid and put in the refrigerator. You can also do with ham, boiled meat, eggs. Of course, products such as fresh tomatoes and greens cannot be prepared in advance. The next day, two hours before the arrival of the guests, it remains only to combine the components in different salad bowls, in the required quantities and season the salads. This is what professionals working in cafes and restaurants do, which does not contradict sanitary standards. There will be more free time to relax before the arrival of guests, and you will not have to hide their fatigue.
