GPN bodies represent the state fire supervision, and annually on July 18, representatives of this profession celebrate their professional holiday. The main task of the GPN bodies is our security with you. Today, the construction of many residential (and not only) buildings is carried out with one or another violation of fire safety standards. If disaster strikes and a fire suddenly engulfs a building, many people may suffer and even die. The best way to prevent a fire is to not play with fire (in the literal sense of the word) and, of course, provide the building with high fire safety. In addition, measures to prevent this natural disaster are also applied to all types of transport, underground structures and forest resources.
The range of activities of specialists in the field of GPN is very wide. Their main responsibilities include: fighting the spread of fire, combating intentional and unintentional arson attacks, approving building projects, monitoring compliance with all fire safety standards, instructing the population (especially schoolchildren) on fire regulations, and maintaining fire statistics in Russia. Particular attention is given to the evacuation system. Ideally, it should provide an opportunity for unhindered exit from the critical zone. For these purposes fire ladders and special evacuation signs should be installed in the building.
GPN employees periodically conduct training alarms, the purpose of which is to train personnel in the correct actions during a fire. According to some reports, about one and a half million are held throughout the country over the year of such instructive events. Through the efforts of the state fire control authorities, it is possible to prevent about 500 thousand fires a year and thereby save valuable material assets worth billions of rubles, as well as priceless lives of people.
For reference: the GPN body was created in 1927 in the Soviet Union. It is considered to be the day of its founding on July 18, which is why this date was chosen as a celebration of this event.

July 18, 64 - A terrible fire started in Rome
This fire, which began on the night of July 18, became the largest and most devastating in the entire history of Rome. Starting with small shops, by morning fire had captured most of the city. Hundreds of people died in a fire, many cultural buildings and temples fell under the onslaught of a merciless flame, panic reigned everywhere. The fire raged for about five days, and after its end, enormous losses were calculated: five districts of the city were completely razed to the ground, another seven were significantly damaged, but resisted. The ruling Nero at that time relented over the homeless people and opened the doors of his palace to them. He took all necessary measures to provide the city with food in order to avoid a thousand starvation. However, taking advantage of the situation and not really understanding it, Nero acted very vilely, blaming the young Christian community for unhappiness. They say that from that moment in the Roman Empire began severe persecution of representatives of this religion.

The adoption of the dogma of the infallibility of the Pope occurred at a meeting of the Ecumenical Council in 1980. According to him, "the infallibility (infallibility) of the Pope from now on should be regarded as a gift of the Holy Spirit, given to him as the successor to the supreme apostle Peter by virtue of succession, and not because of any personal qualities of the Pope." July 18, 1985 - Date of creation of the first Tetris
Tetris, of course, is one of the most popular "toys" in the history of mankind. And despite the rapid introduction of a wide range of computer games, it has not lost its relevance to this day. True, now the majority in Tetris is played through the same computer, telephone and the Internet. It is interesting to note that the idea of the game itself belongs to the little-known Russian programmer Alexei Pazhitnov, who was engaged in the study of artificial intelligence and worked at the USSR Academy of Sciences. He took one of the American puzzles as the basis for creating tetris and made it more informative and interesting. In two months Pajitnov managed to develop the schedule and principle of the new game. Having copied it to floppy disks, the programmer and his colleagues began to distribute them throughout the research institute. In a short period of time, the Tetris game became very popular in the Soviet Union, and soon spread around the world. Tetris has been awarded many awards as a leading consumer software. Such popularity could not be won by any electronic toy.

Robert Hook (1635 - 1703 gg.) - An outstanding English scientist specializing in the field of physics. He was the secretary of LKO (Royal Society of London). In 1660, Hook discovered the law of elasticity of solids (Hook's law), and three years later he proved that the boiling and melting points for all bodies are unchanged. Hook is the author of many scientific works, inventions and improvements. He created a barometer (one of its creators), an air pump, a hydrometer, a microscope, etc. Studying living organisms using the microscope he invented, he concluded that they all have a cellular structure of tissue. And after the London fire in 1666 he proved himself as a talented architect: in particular, he developed a project for the restoration of the dome of St. Paul’s Cathedral. In general, Hook was a very versatile person.
Andrey Ilyin(born in 1960) - theater and film actor. Ilyin received acting education in Riga and Gorky, worked for more than ten years at the Riga Theater of Russian Drama, and then moved to the Mossovet Theater.
