American scientists conducted an unusual study aimed at identifying ways to treat autism. The experiment was attended by 44 men from 13-27 years old, suffering from varying degrees of the disease.

Participants were arbitrarily divided into two groups. Volunteers of the first received a daily dose of sulforaphane - a substance that is part of broccoli cabbage. Members of the second group were given a placebo. The reference points for the study were the beginning of the experiment, as well as the reading of readings after 4, 10 and 18 weeks.

As a result, it turned out that the average ball of the participants in the experimental group was significantly higher. Already in the fourth week of the study, almost half of the volunteers who received sulforaphane showed shifts in emotional behavior and social interaction with other people.

By the 18th week, the participants of the first group had significantly decreased hyperactivity and irritability, they became noticeably more sociable, their speech quality improved. At the 22nd week of the experiment, volunteers no longer observed any new qualities.

Experts note that such shifts in the study of autism, when a patient was affected by a substance, happened for the first time. However, success was not shown at all. Almost a third of autists from the experimental group did not record any changes.
