A manicurist, or as the modern beauty industry says, a nail master is a person who knows all the subtleties of manicure. The master must be able to perform various procedures in this direction, namely: to build up and repair broken nails, cover them with color, align the nail plate, and perform design of varying complexity. Have you noticed how many nail masters post ads attracting everyone to come to gel polish or build up?

Is the work of “manicurist” so much in demand and profitable? Let's get it right.

Who can work as a nail master?

It is generally accepted that only girls can and can paint nails. However, now at least one guy works in almost any beauty salon that provides nail master services.

It is not entirely clear what this is connected with, perhaps society has ceased to be so conservative, and few people will be surprised that a man paints nails of women.

In any case, do not put labels, they say this profession is suitable only for women.

Work as a nail master obliges you to develop perseverance and have the right color perception. It is desirable to have a special penchant for creative and painstaking work. Not everyone can sit down and paint their nails, pay attention to all the subtleties and features, because, like in any creative work, you need to have the appropriate qualities. Also, working with clients requires being emotionally stable.

What should a nail master be able to do?

If you plan to work in the nail industry, then you need to take training courses. First of all, you need to be able to do the right manicure, both with the help of the device, and with the help of cutting tools.

Next, you need to determine the direction of the services provided. If you want to deal only with nail extensions, then you need to undergo appropriate training that differs from the classic gel polish.

Some time ago, it was believed that gel polish could be done without special training. However, a modern nail master is simply obliged to be able to perform alignment of the nail plate with the help of a base, bring the gel polish end-to-end to the cuticle and much more. Therefore, training is a task of paramount importance for a novice master.

The second important point is the master’s ability to carry out various designs. Coming to a manicure, girls expect to get an unsurpassed design, and it is desirable that it be done manually. Any master needs to be able to perform French manicure, because this is the king of all designs. Popular designs also include: moon manicure, stamping, sliders, geometry, negative space, cobwebs, ombre.

Obligatory equipment

When working in a salon or at home, a manicurist needs to have some equipment in his arsenal, namely:

  • A powerful lamp for the polymerization of artificial turf (LED or ultraviolet).
  • Dry heat or steam sterilizer. It is such a device that is able to qualitatively clean manicure accessories, and eliminate the risk of dangerous diseases.
  • The minimum set of gel polishes and a certified tool for degreasing nails.
  • Disposable nail files and orange sticks.

It is also advisable to have a special hood so that the client does not breathe dust when removing the old coating.

Pros of the profession

Positive points in the work of a nail master:

  • High demand. No matter how bad the financial situation of people is, but any self-respecting woman will turn to specialists for help in the care of hands and nails. And if the master is a professional in his field, then the line for him will line up for several days and even weeks in advance.
  • Mobility. To provide services in the field of nail industry, you can work in the salon, at home, or, taking everything you need, go home to clients and provide their services there.
  • Schedule. Working at home, you can receive clients at a time convenient for the master, while not neglecting household chores. Also, you do not need to additionally get to the place of work.
  • Quick learning. You can take a basic training course in just a couple of days. It is advisable to take several courses at once in order to master the profession in full. But you can gradually learn. First, learn the basics and boldly get to work, and as you have questions, take advanced training courses.
  • Development. It would seem that career growth is not terrible for masters of manicure, but this is not so. If you work hard and develop, you can take part in competitions and exhibitions. Over time, open your own nail salon, train new masters and share your own experience.

Work in the nail industry requires you to actively communicate with people, so this is another plus for outgoing people.

Cons of the profession

The following negative aspects are present in this profession:

  • Cost This mainly concerns masters working at home, but there are also salons that oblige you to have a milling cutter and pay for the cost of consumables used.
  • The level of wages depends directly on the number of records per day and the quality of services provided. By working hard you can become a professional in your field, increase the cost of services and accept more customers to get the desired income.
  • A sedentary lifestyle adversely affects the health of the back and muscles of the whole body. Constant contact with chemicals can lead to allergies, so it is important to work with special nitrile gloves and a mask.

Any minuses can be controlled and not allowed to harm their health and budget, the main thing is to treat your profession responsibly and with love.
