Cooking something unusual is very simple. Take this recipe for custard corn pie. Quite unusual, but very tasty cake exclusively on cornmeal. Those. other flour is not used in this cake.

Perhaps you had experience making a cornmeal pie, and it might seem dry to you. We found a way to make it perfect. Why? Then we make porridge in milk. In addition to milk, you can take kefir. Also, if you have time and you have forgotten, corn flour can be soaked overnight in kefir. But for starters, we still recommend cooking without departing from the recipe.

Ingredients:

Corn flour or finely ground grits - 320 g

Sugar - 240 g

Milk or kefir - 400 ml

Odorless vegetable oil - 150 ml

Eggs - 3 pcs.

Baking powder - 1 tbsp. l

Recipe:

In a pan, combine cornmeal and sugar.

Add vegetable oil and milk.

Mix everything well and put on fire.

Put the pot on the fire, strong. Bring to a boil and reduce the heat to a minimum. We do not move away from the stove, stir the porridge all the time so that it does not burn and does not curl up. We cook porridge until the moment when there is no trace behind the spoon. Those. porridge is already thick, but still dripping from a spoon.

Pour the porridge into a bowl and send it to the cold. The porridge should cool. After that, we introduce eggs one by one into our corn dough and beat well with either a whisk or a mixer. At the very end, add the baking powder.

The dough after adding eggs is liquid, and you may sneak in doubts about the success of baking. But do not worry, when heated, corn grits increases in volume. Therefore, the cupcakes are baked as needed.

Pour the dough into muffin molds or into one large mold. Baking does not rise much, so fill the form almost to the brim.

We send cupcakes to the oven, heated to 180 degrees. Bake for 20 minutes. If you bake a large cupcake, then the time for baking needs twice as much.

Cover the finished muffins with sugar icing. Muffins sprinkled with powdered sugar are just as tasty as with icing. Enjoy your meal.
